Brats Vs Kids
Saturday, May 21, 2005

Ok, yesterday’s trip. Was actually not as bad as I thought it to be. Actually, touch my heart I m telling ya, I never for once really seriously think that yesterdae was any big deal or that it would be totally horrible. As a matter of fact, I was actually have the kinda curious, worried kinda feeling. Ok, straight to the point. How was it? Ok loh. Seriously, ok loh. By today, the feelings I got was ok loh already. Yesterday was like, *ting!~WOW~* but by today, the feelings faded.

Anyway, one thing that can be sure is, at the Home, I saw kids and not brats. I saw kids running around, shouting, laughing, fighting, very naughty, but they are just being the kids they are. But on the streets, you see brats, running away from their parents who bought the wrong games or Mcdonalds set meal for them, or see them fighting with each other over xBox and playstation. Brats. Brats who you can imagine screaming Eeeks at maybe, chicken essence, saying, Mom, but we just had bird nest just now. At the Home, we met kids who are just kids. Simple young kids. These are kids whose parents are not from well to-do families or from single parent families. But yes, they do get to go home during the weekends.

The whole building wasnt as tattered and torn as we all expected it to be, but I was nicely built and located at the expensive land of Serangoon Gardens, Chom Chom area. It was nicely and spacious, and clean and nice. I picked a cute little boy and read to him, and he read to me too. I guess when I look at kids, I could not help recalling the times I had, bout 1year ago when I was being a failure tutor. (>.<)but anyway, it is really nice to know that somewhere in this island where Government gives so much incentive for having more kids, there are still children who are still children.

What am I driving at? Well, I feel that the monitors and tv screens have while spending hours with it, withdrawn the innocence and life out of children. The virtual world have drawn them so into the programs that children grew to be like the programmes, blank and yah, blank. Facing the computer hours after hours, days after days. They seemed to have lost their ability to have fun without computer. Ironically, I am writing this sentence using the very computer which I condemn. Lol~! Anyway, indeed, computers have became indispensable that without a computer, I felt crippled. That is why. Children should enjoy life running about, playing physical games and meeting their friends to play, fight and do the i-dont-friend-you-game face to face. Not to meet friends online and fight it out in network games. Or what ever it is called. Am I against games? Well, SOMEONE who might be reading this blog might have a better idea when I talk about computer games (right???*looks straight at the person I am toking to *) but I shall stress again, I am not really against computer, its juz I dun like the harmful effects that it brings due to EXCESSIVE and INAPPROPRIATE-timed usage. I play games too k!

I feel that computers have robbed kids of their innocent, parents who spoil-children-like-nobody’s biz also created a bunch of, yah, BRATS~

From this trip, I learnt. People grow to be how they are being groomed. It is the environment. Izzit? Dunno la. Tired. Wanna sleep le. *yawns*
