As I was sitting there printing and printing... I suddenly started thinking...
The first time I got a computer.. It was when I was in pri. 6...that was when 不老传说, a show by Chew Chor Meng was being first shown. I missed part of it cos I was preparing for my PSLE. That felt so long ago.
When the computer first came, I remember myself playing Doom, in that game, really kinda.. hmm... I also remember playing 'Petz' on that game...and then, the most useful tool of all, is an encyclopedia that came free with the computer. Then, floppy disks were used. And cd rom were wonderful.
I do remember that I can do and redo a pwp again and again because it crashed... and then saving is a problem..using 3 floppy disk to get one stupid pwp out there. I din have internet then.. I think... Yah... Then soon, we had dial-up from pacific..wads that again?I dunno, then I think we change to singtel..I remember recording the amt of time I use on a little booklet to ensure that we dun over-exceed the time. Exceeding the time is really quite ex...
I dun even remember having any anti virus stuff or fire wall and such... And I dun remember being infected at all.. oh, and yes, IRC was the coolest way to get pirated songs...
ICQ was the primary IM, and hotmail's storage space were never enough.
I remember changing to broadband only when I was in uni time... My proudest decision made... Cos I gt 3mths free broadband by buying bundle set of Dlink router and modem... And after 3mths... I signed up with Starhub... got a free set of modem and router..and then...sold off my dLink router and modem at a profit. Effectively, I got my 3mths free subscription. :D
That was also the time when I bought myself my laptop.. and until nw, I m still using this trusty laptop...though it crashed, reformatted again and again, I still think it is a great laptop...til now, it is still in great working condition..
But I think it can only last till next yr... :(
I will miss my laptop...
