Kinda dam pissed.
I m not trying to accuse or say anyone..but I tink the partial free rider one of my group mate sent me her virus when I transferred the (done by me/us) pwp to let her see.
All was well and working until that presentation day. While adding the music to the pwp after transferring the files some 1 hr later, my avast virus gave that irritating and intimidating "Eee-ooh, Eee-ooh,Eee-ooh, Alert! A virus have been detected"... and a couple of times!
I deleted the virus and stuff and everything is well. Until that night when I m gg to sleep..it din managed to hibernate, nor shut down, nor suspent. Practically... jus..yah....virus-ed...
Damn sway... nt only did I got a screwed up presentation, I got a screwed up laptop too. Doesnt help that I also know that my dearest laptop is no longer capable of doing all the tasks I need cos its processors aint good enuf le. I've upgraded my RAM, but now, the processor aint enuf... Its so bad I cant play music in the pwp presentation cos I m doing Flash animation and wanna add music. Its so bad the song became jerky and the processes used up 100%of its ability. Fortunately, I switched to iTune and using lesser processor, it managed to play music together with my animation. But it barely made it, using 98% of its full memory.
Simply put, jus 2 programes and my lappy cant take it. My Dearest Suzy cant take all the processes anymore.. Not because its lousy, but with its age, and technological advancement have made processes more sophisticated and also using more processor's memory. Suzy is good, but age have caught up with her and she can no longer catch up.
Doesnt help that people send virus to u unknowingly.
Dearest Friends doing project, when ur friends insert thumbdrive, do a virus scan before opening. U will never know wad u can get from them. This is like the 2nd time I open someone's thumbdrive and got my laptop into crap..and OOPS! I DID IT AGAIN!
I cant switch off my laptop. I scheduled a boot-time scan..and it detected trojon horse, and deleted, and took a blo*dly long time and scan and rescan and scan and scan.
And the best part is, at that point of time when my com is scannin and rescanning and scanning, I got a msg to tell me our Summer Programme got some issues. We,students, mus book our own room, via internet website!
BEST!
And u know, the weird thing is, students leaders who are supposedly helping us told us the day before there aint enuf rooms, so from 2 per room we became 3 per room, den 4 per room. Den suddenly now must book ourselves.
The BEst BEst part is, after getting my ever-reliable friend to help book cos of my scanning,rescanning computer, the person who gave me the msg then tell me we are to book ourselves, with 3 per room as the last arrangement was.
FanTASTIC.
First, they bothered us by asking if we could let a 'not-so-familiar' classmate join our room for a 4 person (squeeze in a room) package.
Then ask us to book.
Book finish then tell us we shld book as was agreed by the last email although last she verbally asked if we could become 4 per room.
And nothing was said about it being a 3 person per room thing when she asked us to book the room ourselves..
All the trouble is really bothering me..
And with 1 presentation tml, 1 report due tml, and another 2 reports to be done across the weekends, not to mention next week is studying week.
Student's life is TOUGH!
